Field Value
Description The Community Earth System Model Version 2 (CESM2) is a fully-coupled global climate model developed by NCAR for simulating Earth's climate system. This dataset contains the input data necessary to run all supported CESM2 component sets. The dataset includes atmospheric forcing data, ocean initial conditions, land surface data, sea ice parameters, land ice configuration files, and coupling infrastructure data spanning multiple components: atmosphere (CAM6), land (CLM5), ocean (POP2/MOM6), sea ice (CICE5.1), land ice (CISM2.1), river runoff (MOSART), and ocean waves (WW3). Components include over 20TB of data including atmospheric initial conditions (ccs4_init), CESM2-specific initial conditions (cesm2_init), coupled data, land data (lnd), ocean data (ocn), sea ice data (ice), paleoclimate data, and validation datasets. Input data is organized by component and includes surface forcing fields, initial condition files, grid definitions, mapping weights, and namelist configuration files required for running historical, pre-industrial, scenario, and paleoclimate simulations.
